Snezhanka Salad (Салата Снежанка — Snow White Salad), sometimes called "Mlechna salad" (Млечна Салата — Yogurt Salad), is a traditional Bulgarian salad, which is made of strained Bulgarian yogurt, cucumber, garlic, salt, usually cooking oil, dill, sometimes roasted peppers, walnuts and parsley.
"Snezhanka salad" was popularized in the former Eastern block during the twentieth century by the Bulgarian tour operator Balkantourist.
In Serbia and Croatia, this salad is called Tatarska Salata, or "Tartar Salad", possibly related to tartar sauce because of a similar composition. It is often eaten with ćevapi, a Yugoslav barbecue specialty.
In Serbia, it is known as Tarator salata and often served in the summer.
The Greeks call a similar dish Tzatziki.
